Raffle of the 2002 Beadstrand at the February Meeting. 
Anyone who HAS NOT turned in their 3 beads for 2002, (and there are a LOT of us!!!)  
PLEASE make arrangements to get these beads to Rose Dougherty or Lynne Schwarzenberg ASAP!!! 
We want to have more than just 12 beads on the strand!

=====Classes, Workshops, Retreats

The Southern New Hampshire Polymer Clay Guild will be hosting a 2 day class with Sarah Shriver,
Intricate Kaleidoscope Canes, Sat/Sun March 22-23, 2003 at the Kimball-Jenkins Community Art School
in Concord, NH.  The school is located just off Interstate Rt. 93.
 The class fee is $130.00 for non-members.  Contact Bette Abdu at babdu@metrocast.net if you are interested.

Jan. 25 Saturday INTRO TO CLAY CANING
Lynn Schwarzenberg, one of CT's Polymer Clay Guild instructors, will teach you the basics of cane making
using clay. Caning, or Millefiore, is creating a picture out of clay in a tube shape that can then be sliced and used as beads, buttons, embellishments, or layers on clay projects.
1-5 pm $50.00

Feb. 8 Saturday FAUX CLAY TECHNIQUES  
Did you ever think you could make Scrimshaw or jade out of Polymer clay?...well you can and Lynn, from CT's Polymer Clay Guild, will show you how. She'll share with you several different faux techniques in this 4 hour class.
1-5 pm $50.00

 Guildford Handcraft Center – Anyone who has taken classes from Jan 2002 to present is invited to
be part of a student exhibit in the medium in which they took classes. 
The exhibit runs from Feb 8-23. 
They will be receiving work from Jan 31- Feb 2.

===== Bottles of Hope
Tracy VanBuskirk has a section on Bottles of Hope in the book "Stamp & Slice Clay" produced by
Design Originals and Suzanne McNeill. She has donated copies of the book to the guild library,
and to Marie Segal and Leigh Ross who also help promote the BOH.

===== Minutes from December 14, 20002

This meeting was primarily a social event.  The Annual Tag Sale & Raffle was held at the beginning
of the meeting and a Potluck Lunch followed the Tag Sale.

There were 15 members in attendance and 1 guest.

Class proposals were distributed.  The classes will be held on the weekend
of Feb 1-2 at the Foxon Fire House in East Haven.  There will be 4 classes of approximately 3 hours each. 
We can also have the space into the evening both days. 
Voting for which classes you would like to hold will be held by e-mail in January.

Deb brought a pin from Elise Winters to be raffled at a future meeting.
