Faux Enamel Reversible Pendant
Reproduce the vivid color and luminescence of enamel on textured metal using colored pencils and liquid polymer clay. Hand-color your choice of images, transfer with liquid polymer, then finish with metal leaf for maximum brilliance. Your framed transfers will be formed into a reversible pendant with dazzling color and a play of light to rival enamel.
Students Supply:
Work surface, pasta machine, clay blade, acrylic roller, 4 oz. black polymer clay, translucent liquid polymer clay, colored pencils (Crayola preferred), thick white glue (Gem-Tac or Aleene’s thick designer glue), metal leaf, texturing comb. Optional: round-nose and chain-nose pliers, wire cutter.
Instructor supplies:
Class handout, lotus images for transferring, glass baking surface, sandpaper, wire findings, satin cord, tassel.
Mixed Media Jewelry Construction
This intermediate-level workshop starts with a basic metal working techniques review and quickly takes wire-working a step beyond. Explore incorporating other media like glass microscope slides, metal tubing, and other found objects into your jewelry. Also covered are fool-proof methods for joining clay and other materials, interesting options for making your own findings and professional tips and tricks for finishing your pieces to the last detail.
Students Supply:

It’s time to start getting ready for the Bead Bazaar, which will take place at the Holiday Inn in North Haven on September 10, 2005. All guild members are invited to sell their beads and jewelry items for a small commission to the guild. If you would like to help out at the show, you will pay a 10% commission. If not, we will sell your items for you at the table and you will pay a 20% commission. All items should be affixed to a card for a uniform look to our items. Cards and inventory sheets will be provided. We would like to ask that you submit your best work, and will try to accommodate everything that people bring in, but if there is a huge response, we may need to limit the amount of items per person to sell. (It will be a liberal limit…like 25 or so) ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE BROUGHT IN TO THE AUGUST MEETING, COMPLETE WITH INVENTORY SHEETS! If you can’t make it to the meeting, or need a bit of extra time to get your items together, you can make an arrangement to get them to me (Lynne) by August 31 at the very latest.
